Good drinks....lots to choose from. Great place to watch the goings on in the park across the street. Lots of locals hang out at the park at night, it seems to be "the" place to be. Some nights they have live music & you can dance near the back of the bar but then you are away from most of the action. The best place to sit is out on the front porch where you can get a nice breeze.
Rickey's Bar is on the corner across from Cocos but on the same side of the street. Both are loud & sometimes try to out do each other for sound.

If you would ask the people in Cahuita where to go to at night if you want to have a good time, most probably 95% of the people would recommend Cocos Bar. 95% because probably another 5% has their own bar or restaurant. Cocos Bar is the place to be when you are in town.
The bar is located very centrally: directly opposite the busstop where you'll probably arrive in the town. Outside there is a small terrace where you can sit outside, in the shadow and see the streetlife happening right in front of you. Inside there is a larger space: a bar area, a small restaurant area and a large dancefloor in the back of the bar.
In the Cocos Bar you can decide only to have a drink in the afternoon or in the evening: there are beers, fruit juices and some cocktails. But when you stay longer you have a good chance of seeing some live music in the bar as well. Often a local band comes in to play some music for an hour or two. When we were there a soca band came to play some very joyful music.
After that the DJ took over and he blew some very nice reggae music out of the speakers. Reggae really is THE music here, and it will go on all night like this. The audience that is attracted by this is very diverse: local people hang out here, but also expats and tourists, so you see all colours and nationalities in the bar.
