  • Play Paintball in the Jungle!

by hopefern Written Feb 19, 2010

I recommend this paintball field because you have 2 large jungly fields to play on and you can take a hike through their trails during down time. I suggest it for anyone who wants a bit of an adrenaline rush while visiting the south caribbean town of puerto viejo. They give you a snack and juice, and have the option for you to buy lunch - with a BBQ set up we had the tri-tip sandwich. Try and get a large group to play, we had 14 people and we all had a blast. The owners transport you to and from your hotel and it is all included in the group rate of 45$ per person. I only needed the 200balls that came with the package deal, but my friend was able to buy more on the field, as he plays like a rambo.

Good for boys and girls, young and old! Highly recommended!

Equipment: Bring hiking shoes or wellies (boots), long sleeves and pants.
Included in the package: 20ox cylinder of co2, 200 balls (i think?), gun, mask, juice and fruit snack. You have the option to play all day - as long as your balls do not run out!

Reefrunner Divers offers scuba diving to a variety of sites from Puerto Viejo to Manzanillo. Their office is located right on the beach in Puerto Viejo. I have been diving with Reefrunners for the past six years and have only good experiences and memories. This is a relatively small operation but very people friendly. Their strong point is very personal service and they strive to make your dive seem like going out for the day with friends.
Their dive boat is not large and you might want to avoid days when 8 or more or going out. But otherwsie, take time to talk to the dive master and let him know your dive experience and what you want from the dive, and they will do their best to make your day a great experience.
Almost every two-tank dive is split with a shore picnic on Punta Uva beach which is also a great snorkeling spot.
Finish your dives with some down time on the veranda, a cool beer, and the cosada from Mama Lucia next door, and you will have had a great day out.

Equipment: Reefrunners has well maintained equipment but I always like to bring my own mask and snorkle to ensure I won't have any "fit" issues.
