There is a great bar/dance scene in Montezuma. Right at the end of the street is a bar that extends to the beach, and during the tourist season, this will be packed with travelers and Costa Ricans on vacation themselves. It's safe and a great time. Since Montezuma is a pretty small city, you are gonna be within walking distance of your hotel so no worries about getting a ride. If you're lucky, you might even catch a street performance done by some of the locals. Overall, there is a great time to be had at night in Montezuma

This casual bar during the day becomes the town's main dancing spot in the evenings (or at least on weekends) and fills up with locals and hippies dancing to the reggae, salsa and merengue. There are many tables to chill at and several pool tables. Just down the steps on the beach is another bar which has several tables right on the beach- good for a mid-day thirst-quenching break.
Tends to be open pretty late. Pretty safe but watch yourself as a fight broke out in the street pretty later on. Nothing serious but looks like a common event.
Dress Code: Casual casual casual. Anything goes.

There is a very large bar (nightclub almost) at the bery end of the road when you walk towards the Montezuma Beach. They have a hip hop, house and latin night down here....and it gets to be pretty packed.
We went out for the house night which eneded up being a trance all-nighter after a visiting DJ took the stage. Cool place.
Dress Code: I guess I wouln'd go barefoot, everything else goes.

Chico's Bar is the only watering hole in town and attracts a good crowd every night. There are two bars along with two pool tables and a foosball table along with an area for dancing. Sometimes when the bar isn't too crowded you can catch a low stakes poker game with some locals at one of the tables.

This lively and sometimes rowdy place is the epicenter of Montezuma nightlife. There's a streetside bar and a beach-side patio, where non stop salsa blasts.
All travellers and most locals seem to gather here, so its a good place to meet folks.
