I missed the name but its directly to the right of Chico-s bar is you are looking towards the water. They have a little patio upstairs at the back. You walk through the restaurant to get to it. I had one of the best casado i've ever had in CR. Breakfast is also great .
Favorite Dish: Casado con pescado. Great patacones with it and a generous portion.

Certainly you'll have to pass by Cobano during your stay at Montezuma because that's where the only bank is. Cobano is awful but we discovered a great and cheaper than Montezuma place to have a godd cup of coffee and a delicious sandwich.
The place itself is unique because it is very stylish with photos of people from Havana, the owner is Cuban. It is air/conditioned and very fresh and clean.
Favorite Dish: We had a madness type of club sandwich called the Club Tico and that's worth a try. Otherwise we saw that at another table they had fish very well displayed, almost like a work of art and the dessert was something, strawberries with Chantilly and homemade shortbread.

I didn't have a full meal here, but the nacho chips served with guacamole were tremendous. OK, the chips were just average, but the freshly made guacamole is amazing. I went back another night just for that.

This lovely little bakery and cafe also features a bright terrace which is often frequented by stellar macay birds and white-faced monkeys- watch out! They are there to steal your food, not to visit, so pay attention to your plates. Has a great pristine ambience and great vegetarian food- for breakfast and lunch. You can also organize various tours here.

This is a fantastic Mediterranean restaurant up the road towards the waterfall right on the ocean with a fantastic ambience and great service. You can select one of the low tables right beside the crashing waves and sit on a pillow, your meal lit by candle.
Favorite Dish: Food is to die for: try the tuna carpaccio to start- OUT OF THIS WORLD! For the main meal, also try one of the fresh fish for 2- ours was served with delicious roasted potatos and came with incense flaming out of the fish.

This tiny little open-aired bistro facing on the main street across from Chico's is owned by a Calabresa woman and has a selection of delicious freshly baked thin crust pizzas, homemade pastas and typical Italian appetizers and main dishes.
Favorite Dish: Try the gnocchi with fresh tomatoes and basil or the gorgonzola pizza!

Hotel Moctezuma has wonderful ambiance. We were only feet away from the Pacific. The breeze and scenery made for a wonderful meal.
Favorite Dish: I had the chicken curry which was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. My husband had beef in a blue cheese sauce that was just as good. The service was also great. I would eat there again in a heartbeat.

There is a supermarket on the main road leading downtown and perpendicular to the main drag where Chico's is. It offers a good selection of all the food and alcohol you may need. We got supplies for a big dinner and breakfast (plus leftovers) and a good night of drinking for about $5 a person. Staying at Luna Llena, you have your own kitchen facilities and can save a lot of money by cooking yourself.

The Sano Banano has a good variety of food all day long although the prices are pretty expensive. If you want a more laid back night (still hungover from the previous night's festivities?), they show movies here on a regularly basis starting around 7 pm. You have to make a 3000 colones purchase to watch the movie so combine it with a later supper and enjoy the show.

Intimate restaurant located right on the beach with a sand floor. We had wonderful smoked cheese with shrimp for an appetiser, salad, bread, fillet mignon, and huge fresh fish that fed four, along with cocktails and a few beers for about $17/person!
The service was amazing!
Favorite Dish: Everything here was sooooo good! Apparently the menu changes daily depending on what is fresh
