Pacuare River Class 3/4 Rapids

  • White Water Rafint in Costa Rica was awesome. I've never done it before so I can't compare, but from I got, it was a great experience. It was definitely a really good workout but it was really fun and you kind of feel a sense of accomplishment when you are done.

Guys: nothing you wouldn't already have with you, Swim Trunks and Teva'ish sandals
Girls: Bikini bottoms wont do, you need board shorts or swim trunks, unless you want to be au natural after the first rapid....

  • Theme: Rafting
  • Directions: I did Pacuare River and it was really fun, but some people said they did Reventazon as well and it was much more intense and much faster (but non stop rowing). I was very happy with Pacuare. Considering how tired I was, Reventazon would have been too much

The Best Beaches of Costa Rica

  • I am an old surfer from California (been at it for over 35 years). I first went to the Northwest coast of Costa Rica (Tamarindo) to find some nice beaches and waves. The waves were nice but the beaches, for my money, left something to be desired.

Finally found paradise on the Carribean coast down near the Panamanian border. White sand, clear water, no crowds.

    Now, don't tell anybody....

  • Surf is one of the reasons to visit Costa Rica, although its worth to go there even if you don't surf, like myself!
In theory all the Pacific Coast is good for surfing, at least is more reliable. In the Caribbean side you have Puerto Viejo.
I think all you need to know is in this website: www.rovercam.com

All over Costa Rica you will have the oppertunity to go horesback riding. From Monteverde to Jaco Beach the horses are everywhere. You can get to see some really cool scenery and sunsets no matter where you are. If you like horseback riding Costa Rica is the place to go.

Have long pants and sneekers or shoes.

Costa Rica is a good country to practise all kinds of sports which have to be with nature.
So, the Pacific beaches are a good place for surfers (specially northwest, in Nicoya region) and to dive. You can do rafting in some rivers (Reventazon,...), and the famous canopy. Although you can find canopy (a rope above the forest where you descend faster and faster) all over the country, i recommend practise it in Monteverde.

Horseriding in Costaricaīs forests is a unique experience. I recommend to do it in Beuna Vista Lodge, near Liberia and the Rincon la Vieja Natural Park.

Take breath, close your eyes... and jump over the rainforest!!!

You donīt need special equipment. All the equipment needed is ready at the canopy installations.
