Costa Rica is the country of the coffee..the flora and fauna. You should take a trip to one of the coffee farms. If you go to see an local travelling agent in San Jose, you'll find a hugh variety of trips they can offer you in this beautiful country. There something for everyone. Adventurous river rafting or bungee jumping. Hiking in the dschungel. Watching the turtles on Isla Tortuga, visiting the Butterfly farm. Calypso tours is offering diving or rowing trips to lonely islands in the Pacific..A sightseeing tour through San Jose, with it's popular opera..You ca book a dschungle tour on the river Tarcoles, watching wildlife and crocodiles.. The Church of the Immaculate...

by Kindberg37

The Church of the Immaculate Heart in Heredia. This is a gorgeous church that you can go look around in. It was completed in 1797, after taking 30 years to build. Even though there are tons of earthquakes in Costa Rica this church has remained because of how strong the foundation is.

by Kindberg37

Visit a beach made out of sea shells. We stayed at a beach resort for the last couple of days of our trip. The beach we stayed at was called La Concha (shell). The beach didn’t have sand on it, instead there were millions of shells broken up. As painful as that may sound, it was ground so fine that it felt like sand. We rented horses there on the beach and got to ride along the ocean, which I’ve always wanted to do. Along the beach we went by little houses and stores that were set up.

San Jose City

by Kindberg37

I loved San Jose because even though it is a large city you can still find some small shops and places that are so much fun. We would walk down the streets and find different vendors and stores that had anything and everything you can imagine.

I think when visiting Costa Rica a must see place is La Fortuna. There are a lot of Canadians here, well as far as I could tell anyway, I saw a lot of British Columbia licence plates on vehicles. There is so much to do here. Top of the list is the Arenal Volcano that always seems to be active. Next I would enjoy a nice dip in the hot springs located close by the volcano. There is also a huge waterfall located not too far from La Fortuna, but you better be a good hiker cause this hike isn't for novices. Last time I was there it was a little trecherous, also bring some money with you because they have decided to set up a booth and charge an entrance fee. I couldn't believe it when I saw that. I had been there six months previous and it was free to enter, imagine my surprise when I returned to find someone charging an entrance fee. You can also go to Lake Arenal which is the largest lake in...

Criminology Museum

by trywillmc

This museum is not for the faint of heart. Warning you may see things here that you may find offensive. The museum is located in San Jose, at the Supreme Court. My personal opinion is that this is one of the hardest museums to see in all Costa Rica, i tried several times to see it and it was usually closed and i could never get a definite time from staff members when it would be open. The last time i tried to vistit it was being renovated. This museum is one of the least advertised museums to my knowledge because of its shocking content. If you dont mind seeing body parts in phermeldahyde, i have rated this museum a must see.

by arm_tav

Being a country in the tropics region, you will not want to miss the beaches. I only went to one called Manuel Antonio, which was great because besides having nice waves for surfing it also has a natural park of the same name which by the way is really worth seeing.

La Paz waterfalls, wonderful creation of nature, lost in the mountains near Cinchona & the Braulio Carillo national park.Zoo Aves, a zoological garden mostly dedicated to birds, that have all the rare specimens like quetzals and amazons - in small cages however :-( - as well as more common specimens, all of this very well presented, in a lush and green environment, most pleasing. You'll find this zoo at La Guarita, in the Western part of the central valley.More to come...
