    come to and around

Many people sail down to Costa Rica (mostly the rich ones...) but the point is to find a nice beach you like and find relaxing - and park yourself no matter the size of the boat:)

    Ferry

The car ferry leaves Puntarenas going to Playa Naranjo several times daily. The crossing takes about 90 minutes.
Get in line early because you will have a long line of traffic.

    Isn't that cute???
We had a 45minute hike on the beach to get to Corcovado Tent Camp. Fortunately, this little cutie carried our backpacks for us.

Once in Costa Rica you will more than likely take a airplane to your hotel .

They can get bumpy but just sit back and enjoy the view..

When travelling around Costa Rica, always rent a 4x4, especially when you are planning to visit the Nicoya Peninsula. Trust me on this one.

Taking a small chartered plane from San Jose to your chosen destination will save you hours of driving and allow you some excellent views of the countryside.

This is the airport in Samara.

Buses are one of the most economical ways to travel around Costa Rica. You can get almost anywhere but allow extra time for break downs, traffic, many stops.

I had van transport me from San Isidrio to Puert Jimenez, the easier way to go if you are in San Jose is to fly from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez

I think local bus is the best way to travel in Costa Rica but be patient, you will never be in time. You will travel with native and they are very friendly. It cost almost nothing to take de bus .

Motor cycle (dirt bike) was my choice to get around. It was a fun way to avoid the many pot holes.

Although Costa Rica is not a very large country, it is only about 51,000 square kilometers. The terrain is quite harsh, and getting around by road sometimes requires a lot of time and patience.
