La Zorra y El Cuervo: Jazz in Havana

by YanetT

This small douwnstairs nightclub is located on Calle 23, entre N y O, next too Cafeteria Sophia. The Havana Jazz Festival was on during my visit this December. However this club has great jazz every night of the week. Only $10 to get in, $20 for famous musicians, ie, Chucho Valdes . I only went once, but it was great, smoking was permitted, but a new law prohibits smoking in some restaurants, not sure about La Zorra though.Go there if you get a chance, the atmosphere is classic jazz, little (not dingy though) nightclub in basement, and fantastic musicians always.Photo is of Calle 23, cafe Sophia, La Zorra is to the left of that cafe. No dress restrictions that I could see.

malecon, vedado, cd. habana: cuban style

by jenny_lu

this is the place all the cubans go. you can hang out on the malecon and people watch, drink rum, meet new friends, hear live music, and just interact and observe the people. its so much fun! i spent almost every night in havana here. most cubans i guess wear clothes that leave only a little to the imagination. and they look good! something you can be comfortable in, and remember it can get hot.

KARAOKE "KAREY": KARAOKE ~ anyone???!!!!

by aneaglewhensheflies

Mom and I didn't stay awake long enough to participate at "KAREY"S" KARAOKE---as it is open from 11:00p.m. to 2:00a..m. and that is way PAST our bedtime ~ especially when Mom & I were eating and tipping back those exotic drinks ALL DAY and early EVENING.

THE HABANA CAFE': 50's RESTAURANT & NITECLUB

by aneaglewhensheflies

The decor of THE HABANA CAFE' is of the 50's. Live bands entertain you during dinner and a livelier beat of music entertains you after dinner complete with a dance floor if you choose. The band members, of course , make you feel very welcome as they play. This nite spot is available to all guests through reservation and is part of your ALL INCLUSIVE fee. No bathing suits allowed or bare feet. Perferably, casual dress is welcome.

Fun Pub: Evening Entertainment

by wishyouwherehere

The evening entertainment in the hotel was good and the shows where varied and entertaining. There was opera, Ballett, a magician and a band that did 60's and 70's music.we went to the fun pub most evenings as this was air conditioned and you could listen to a good selection of music. Dress code on an evening in this hotel is smart elegant. Gentleman have to wear long trousers to eat in the restaurants.

The Tropicana Club: 1950-60s nightclub ear

by GeethaSingam

The Tropicana Club was a favourite haunt of some of the American gangsters that had holiday homes in Cuba. Quite a authentic show with lots of colourful dancers, male and female so quite an equal split, no real body exposure so quite tasteful. The show gives life to all fomrs of Cuban music. You usually get a bottle of rum between two and a cigar to enjoy during the show. Tends to be filled with tourists as the locals probably can't affiord the expensive price of USD$50 each but it is a fun night, taste of old Havanna days. Dress smart, no jeans for guys. Everyone looked quite smart. Probably the only place you have to dress up for as everything else looks so casual in Cuba. Fun for a night out though.
