Every club we went to was pretty cool. The Cuban women could dance like no other...The clubs were alot of fun, dancing drinking...pretty much the same thing that you would do in any club. The people make the nightlife come alive, they are so vibrant and fun, I really recommend that everyone checks out the clubs in Cuba. I always were sundresses....I am not sure if there is a dress code.

The Inglaterra Hotel had great musical shows both on the street level terrace and on the roof. We heard a wonderful trio with a beautiful singer on the terrace. Then we moved to the roof. It had a great Bolero show and served fantastic drinks. There was also a fantastic band that played there (and sold CDs). This would be a good option for a low-key evening, or if you are completely jet-lagged! Not so very unique, but the roof has a great night-time view of the government buildings. Anything, really. It was more dressy than not, but people were wearing a variety of outfits.
Anywhere in La Habana Villa is great, if a little touristique. The bars along Obispo offer live music. If you like Son, then a groovy little band by the name of Son Tropical play in a bar with the strange name 'Golden Rain'.There is a real mixture of people in this area. Meet other tourists, and locals who are passing through, holidaying or working. All kind of bars and music from folk to jazz. Take it easy!!!!
I didn't get the chance but if you are lucky maybe you can join a local Santeria ritual, where the Santero offices the afro-cuban sincretist ritual to sanctification. I went to Guanabacoa at the Santero house and he showed everything used at this rituals and gave me some good advices on how to behave and how to get protection. I hope to attend the ritual one of this nights when beeing there again. (any experience to share? )

If you like salsa music, there are a few places you have to keep in mind to see the 'top of the pops' bands playing in Havana. Yes, lots of tourists, but it's your choice...:LA CASA DE LA MUSICA (in Playa)CAFÉ CANTANTE (downstairs from Teatro Nacional, in Plaza de la Revolución)JAZZ CAFÉ (opposite Hotel Meliá Cohiba)LA CECILIAPIANO BAR DELIRIO HABANERO (top floor Teatro Nacional)To see son alive entrance free: LA CASA DEL TE (Habana Vieja), LA LLUVIA DE ORO (Obispo Street, Habana Vieja) CASA DE LA CULTURA DE LA HABANA VIEJA.Find out about the 'Peñas' in barrio Marianao there is one on Sundays where for a few Cuban pesos you get in this big open place with live music and 100% Cubans (I was the only tourist over there!)of all age, it was a great experience!
The disco at the Sol Rio de Mares on Playa Esmeralda. It's a fun night out, where we got to spend some time with the locals, and had lots of fun!I do believe it's only for the guests though. Anything you wish.
Night Life in Cuba is great and inexpensive! I couldn't tell you which place was my favorite because they all have such wonderful memories and are always a great time. But I will give you a few places that you should check out.The Malecon @ night becomes a lively hang out for all ages! The Palmero in Old Havana - $10 cover plus your drinks. They have a live band and dancers.Salon Rojo - $10 cover all inclusive!!! Arrive early for a good seat because they a have floor show then afterwards open a dance floor.Hemingway Marina has an all inclusive bar $10 per person. There are so many bars, clubs and cafes just walk through the streets in Old Havana and Vedado and you'll be sure to encounter a lively time!

Actually Afternoonlife... in habana the cheapest time to get out is afternoon, starting 4pm. in that time, you can also meet young cubans who go out becuase of the cheap prices.DONT GO ON THE NIGHT FOR PLACES WHICH COST FOR CUBANS THE SAME AS YOU, BECUASE THE ONLY CUBANS YOU WILL SEE THERE ARE HOOKERS WHO CAN AFFORD TO PAY THE ENTRENCE FEE.
Casa De La Musica, in Habana, on 5:30pm.Hold's a GREAT salsa show with live salsa groups that are some best salsa groups in Cuba. No dress code is needed. but for your own good feel. try to look good, and dress good. because although it is at 5:30pm it has an athmosphere of a night club.
