take a walk away from the tourist spots..look at the old buildings and see how the cubans live..they appear a very positive and close knit community..I found them very friendly and felt at ease whilst walking alone.

íBuilt in 1818, the church as a mudejar panelled ceiling and is the sanctuary of the Patron Saint of Havana, Virgen de Regla.Calle Santuario #11, entre Maximo Gomez y Litoral Open noon to 5 pm Monay7:30 am-5:30 Tues-Sunday

Just for something different, take a walk around this interesting area of Havana. There are many restaurants and Cuban waiters beckoning you to eat at their restaurants. The area is situated just off Calle Zanja on the Bulevar del Barrio Chino, decorated with red lanterns.

In December 2000, a park was named after John Lennon, and a bronze statue of John Lennon on a park bench is frequented by many Beatle/John Lennon fans, as well as Cuban fans. There is now a 24 hour vigil to watch the statue, as someone stolen John's glasses twice before. If you wish, go and visit the statue and leave flowers in John's lap.Since I was a HUGE J.Lennon fan, I, of course, went to pay homage to him. This is in the Vedado area of Havana

It may be a strange place to visit, but it is quiet, historical, and beautiful. All the graves are above ground tombs, with beautiful monuments to the famous and not famous people of Cuba. One of the most frequently visited memorials is called La Milagrosa (The Miraculous One), resting place of Amelia Goryi de Hoz who died in 1901 during childbirth. Her baby was buried with her, when the tomb was opened several years later the baby was in her arms, and it is a symbol of eternal hope. The main entrance is spectacular, as well as many elaborate tombs in memory of those who died in the Revolution, etc.Entrance fee of $1.00 and donations to repair some of the broken tombs.

It is NOT recommended that a person ventures off the beaten path in Cuba unless you have Cuban FRIENDS that will escort you. The level of crime has increased. Burglary,, breaking and entering, rape, assault and particularly, petty theft and pdick-pocketing are on the rise, especially in areas frequented by tourists.Careful attention should be givento personal belongings. Keep valuables and travel documents in your "room safe"Avoid isolated beaches and going out alone at night if NOT in the resort complex.Of course, NONE of these warnings APPLY if you are staying within the SOL CLUB LAS SIRENAS RESORT GROUNDS (and SOL CLUB CORALS GROUNDS).

Traveling through *** I thought this would be a good picture for some strange reason was told by our guide that the prison was empty except for a few people that stole some bikes, as our guide lived in *** Ihave no reason to disbelive her !!!!! nice to know the % of crime is so small.***** is the name of the town I see its been censored for some strange reason.

Another Cayo, but that one might be the future Cancun :-( However it is still very under develloped... even if spanish groups are building hotels for the american (preparing the end of Castro period)If you push way up the road which is still being constructed you will find an amazing beach, it seems to be the end of the world and an uncovered beach, so just an advise: Enjoy!

Barbecue for Cuban tourist in a special Camp in Baracoa.Whenever they can get the meat - it is fiesta !The politics about getting a well deserved holiday is special in Cuba - they are not that free like we are ! But no politics on this page !

We had the occasion to visit some touristic spots in Baracoa - but not for tourist like we are - it were places for the Cubans themselves - like this place called "Campismo Popular - El Yunque"All facilities and excursions - sport facilities for the kids.
