Nightlife in Camagüey
I enjoyed nightlife in Camagüey so much! The city is fully awake in the evening with so many places for music, dancing and socializing...
Sometimes we started our evening on the roof bar of Gran Hotel on Maceo street with the amazing night views, which views are equally great during the day,too.. The mojitos there are very good and it's fun watching the bar tender making them. Then we headed for El Cambio and Cafe Ciudad. These were our meeting points with more friends for a first drink. After charging our batteries we started walking in the streets to find the most popular place of that night. We often ended up in Casa de la Trova, one of the liveliest in Cuba which has good bands and a lot of dancing. Both locals and tourists are present every night. Other times we went to the modern and huge Centro Cultural Caribe which is also a disco. We had a lot of fun almost every day...
In the small hours , we stopped in small fast food shops to have a bite, before going to bed. But we often found ourselves dancing among the tables...These Cubans are unstoppable!!!
My favourite places for cooling down, were Cafe Cuidad and El Cambio, an atmospheric bar with graffiti on the walls, on Calle Martí and Independencia..
Camagueyan Night: You're all invited!
Every Saturday night, Camagueyans take to Maceo Street and party. There's salsa dancing and live music, and an added perk is that it's free! We checked it out earlier on in the night and had a good time watching the dancing and chatting with locals, but since it was starting to really rain we headed off a little earlier than we otherwise would have.
Things definitely picked up even more after we left, because when we got back to our casa, we could still hear the music and the people getting louder way into the morning.
