Krystal Laguna Hotel.: Tema Caribe in Caberate.
Tema Caribe are a five peice band which play Latin and smooth sounds of the Caribean, Cuban Salsa and serenades of the sax and solos.
Playing two or three times a week, they were brilliant.
Yaxi the singer has a sultry smooth voice which has a unique sound.
They currently have two Cd's out, one which is latin sounds, but Yaxi doesn't sing it's another female singer.
The second is a smooth album, that's great and she does sing on this one.
Dress Code: Smart and casual.
Salsa Cafe: Disco
Salsa Cafe is the disco in the Blau Colonial. They have hour stage dancing shows everynight and they also do alot of audience participation. Just be careful of the big bald Cuban should you get hauled to the stage. Sometimes he likes to wear a wig and dance around putting on lipstick. All part of the show. The disco itself is small compared to other resorts I have stayed in. The stage is only three or so feet high from the dance floor. The dance crew consists of approx. 15 dancers. They are good dancers and stay in the crowd after their show talking, dancing with the tourists. Often times they will ask you for a cigarette or for you to get them a drink. They are not allowed to go to the bar or get food as they will get fired or be demoted. I gave them what they wanted when asked, as did many others. The bar closes at 2am, but there is a 24hr smaller bar just outside that you can get drinks and sandwhichs only. There are tables and chairs in the cobblestone street and people milling about. Great for people watching and getting your game one. ;)
The picture attached is the cheorograper. She's a brilliant dancer and I didn't get her name. But she works 9am-12am six days a week. On our last night she was exhausted and was tired of drunk youngsters take her to dance. The pic was taken on our second night in Cayo Coco.

Nightlife at Melia Cayo Coco
Nightlife at the Melia Cayo Coco would mainly consist of a show which would be expertly presented by the animation team. Involving singing and dancing it would be differently themed everynight, these people work hard all day rehearsing and it definately shows.
The show normally kicks off at about 21:45 after some light entertainment round the pool or piano playing in the lobby bar.
There is also a night club at the next door complex which takes about a minute to walk to, just make sure you collect a ticket from the lobby prior to attending. We only went to this club once which was meant to be Salsa night supposedly the best night (Tuesday and Thursday). We found it very crowded as people from all other complexes are brought in on a train. It was quite hard to get a drink and it is good to tip so you get served quickly, and it especially helps if you are young and female, so we stockpiled 3 drinks at a time.
We didn't stay long as music started to grate on us and it looked more like line dancing!

Lack of night life
Be warned that Cayo Guillermo doesn't really have a night life. Their night life consists of their "performance" shows which are great. However there aren't any clubs or pubs or anywhere you can go, have a drink and listen to music. You'll have to go to main land cayo Coco for this.
Each night the entertainment staff put on colourful shows for the guests. They were filled with music, dancing, drama and at the end they always sang the same fun song complete with actions which they had the whole audience participate in. I still can't get the song out of my head. There is also a disco but we didn't go because we were usually too tired after a day of swimming, walking along the beach, sitting in the sunshine and eating, eating & eating!
Dress Code: The whole resort was casual dress.
Club Tryp: Resort Entertainment
We spent every night at the resort, so only have their evening shows to comment on. The productions were quite good and involve a lot of audience participation to get everyone in the mood. Photo of a spoof on cannibals during one of the sessions. Mind you, our daughters went to some of the discos held on the resort and seemed to enjoy themselves!
