International dive centers include the Cayo Coco (in Tryp Cayo Coco) and the Green Moray (in Melia Cayo Guillermo).

All the hotels on Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo can organize diving excursions for you.

We took another eight hour day and went into town. We stopped several places. I was pretty sick this day and didn't pay much attention. We went on a horse and buggy ride though ***, stopped to shop, had lunch.

We booked this through our tour operator Signature Vacations once we arrived in Cayo Coco. It was an eight hour day, they picked you up at the resort and dropped you off. We made three stops, two too snorkel and one at a beach where we spent an hour swimming and exploring. We ate lobster on board. AMAZING!

This trip was well worth the money, it was around $149 dollers. Before swimming with the dolphines we saw a sea lion show which was well worth the watch, then it was on 2 the dolphines, we went in the water in groupsmof about 10 and then split in to groups of 5 and we had 2 dolphies 2 each group, you get around 20mins in the water and also u get a chance 2 buy photos which are $10dollers each but well worth it also for an extra $3dollersn u get to swim with them again and u get about 30 extra mins and is worth the money cos u get one on one with the dolphies. This trip is a must do and something that will leave a smile on your face for the rest of your holiday

Race through the mangroves in your own two person speedboat following a lead boat weaving in and out of the foliage.

Stop to snorkel and look at lots of different species or colourful fish in a safe environment ideal for first time snorkellers.

Then it`s back in the boat for the ride back to base at Cayp Guilermo.

    See the Real Cuba

    by Bwana_Brown Updated Mar 15, 2003

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Take a trip or two off the resort area and see some of the real Cuba. We hired a 4WD and drove ourselves on a convoy tour of the island on the mainland (led by a guide vehicle) - there is a very long causeway linking Cayo Coco to the mainland. It was very interesting to see the countryside and the buildings with the people going about their everyday lives. Things are very rundown because of the effects of the American trade embargo - but the people everywhere were very friendly. Photo of typical countryside.
