Sup a mojito!!!!
The best place during the day for a little tipple is "El Palotino" where there's a good view of the square Marti. There's a good band playing most of the day but the great thing about it and this attracts the locals as much as passing tourists, is that it is on the shady side of the street. Anytime during the day the terrace is always in shadow. The bar is the oldest building around the Parque Marti built in 1840, and it also does sandwiches, toasted or otherwise for 1 CUC/1CUC50. Service isn't always speedy but who cares when the music is playing and you're lounging around out of the sun.
When we were there, there was also a bunch of German bikers, all on shiny Harleys that they imported for their trip.
Coming from L'Havana we were not surprised to see governament propaganda on the walls of the town.
Something that captured our attention was a big painting of Cje Guevara on the wall of a primary school.
The first thing that my travel compaign and I thought has been:we have crucifixes in our kids school rooms, they have Che Guevara on the wall.More pictures of Cuban propaganda are in my travelogues in Cuba page.
