Former palace which at one time was a casino and is now a resturant and gift shop.
Located in Punta Gordo on the end of city main ave,towrds the end of cienfuegos coast.
The structure and ornamental styles of the architecture are very diverse, to include mohamedan art, and Mudejar, Byzantine, Venetian, Gothic and Baroque. designs.
Within the mansion is a stylish resturant, where piano music is played during dinner.
On a Saturday night live salsa is played.
You can go up to the towers to take photo's, this building gives an air of granduer and oppulance.It's stunning.

We sat in one of the turrets on roof of the Palacio de Valle in Cienfuegos. We needed to get away from the rain, but also, we had our customary mojitos.
You can see a fantastic sunset from up there, which we did once the weather cleared slighly for a few minutes. It's a nice place to get away from the usual street scenes and gain some height and look out towards the bay.

For new year 2003/2004 my team members had a diner in this hotel - reservation needed - but the lobster was not that good as the lobster we had at the "Casa Particular" - typical Cuba gouvernment and private meals.
But the atmosphere in this hotel is unique - the piano of the gorgious lady needs urgently a renovation - this for profs like Jan - my travel mate .....!

A historical building near the Jagua hotel with view on the harbour of Cienfuegos.
You will find - by accidence - a famous singer
and looking around - from the basics to the top roof - spanish and moorish architecture !
Enjoying the overview on the bay - maybe you will recognize some older nuclear bases !

This palace is in the punta gorda section of the city.
It is truly palatial with large, high ceiling rooms, turrets, arches and fine detail, with elements of vothic, venetian, and moorish styles that combine to create this fantastic building.
The Palacio de Valle was built for the wealthy sugar merchant Oclico del Valle Blanco, and was completed in 1917.

I peeked into the dining room : tourists from all over the world, enjoying luxury of ornate carvings in Venetian alabaster and colorful splendor of Sheherezada like interior. I wandered around for few more minutes and moved finally towards the last leg of this stroll: southern tip of Punta Gorda.

It is a Moorish palace overlooking the Bay and the city. It was originally owned by a trader Celestino Caceres, then was passed to the Valle family who added to it floral, carved motifs, marble staircases, arches, domes and arabesques.

Visit inside and outside the fabulous Palacio del Valle. Outside you'll see different styles like neogothic, neoclassic and 'mudéjar' too!
After the 1929 crack, the owner of this building suicided... :-( Opppppssssss! Bad luck...

The Moorish style Palacio de Valle was built for a wealthy sugar merchant early in the 20th Century. After it ceased to be a home, it was turned into a casino. Now, it is an upscale restaurant.
