In my opinion the best way to enjoy Cienfuegos is starting from Paseo del Prado which is the main street of the twon.
Walking on this elegant street you will see at both sides colonial houses with columns of various colours.
Then, once arrived on the seaside, if you want to keep walking, you can go on untill punta gorda which practically is the southern end of the city which faces the ocean.
The best time for such a walk is after 6 pm because it's just a bit less hot and because you will be able to enjoy the sunset on the sea.
All other main attractions are on Plaza Marti in the centre of the town and do not need a long time to be visited.

Paseo del Prado - laid in 1922
The place to be in Cienfuegos - well preserved buildings and monuments.
Tip : easy to get here by horse taxi waiting for you in front of Hotel Jagua.Price : 2 US dollar per person/trip

El Prado is the main thoroughfare of the city with rows of neoclassical, arcade buildings painted in different shades of pastel, culminated around the centre. Cienfuegos most southern tip is Punta Gorda , a residential area which has been declared a national monument.

a stroll towards the centre - notice empty streets! another accomplishment of "victoriuos" communism is that there's no gas therefore public transportation is pretty much dead.
