The Teatro Tomas Terry is a lovely theater, built in 1889. Admission is 10 pesos (or ½ CUC) but people who can’t afford it can sit in the top tiers for free. There was nothing going on when we were there, but the theater was worth a look.

One of the most impressive buildings in Cienfuegos is the Teatro Tomas Terry on the north side of Parque Marti.
The theatre was built by Tomas Terry's family, as a tribute to the man, after his death.
A statue of Tomas Terry stands in the lobby. This Italian looking theatre was the creation of architect Lino Sanchez Marmol and was built in 1889.

Inaugurated in 1890, the theater has been wonderfully maintained. It has been declared a national monument, and stars such as Enrico Caruso, Sarah Bernhardt, and Ana Pavlova performed here. Check to see if there are any performances while you're in town; if not, you can tour the facility during the day. Admission is 1CUC and includes a quick, guided tour.

Visit Tomas Terry Theatre. Yes 3 'T' ! Inside you'll see a shield with this coincidence too! The man who paid the project (Tomas Terry) was a fan of theatre's world.
Enjoy the biggest theatre of all the city and probably one of the biggest in Cuba's island

The Tomas Terry theatre is very old and still in use. You feel the atmosphere there and how it must have been like going to the theatre several hundred years ago.
