Lonely planet, routard and God only knows how many more travel guides will tell you to visit jardin botanico as it is one of the main attraction of Ciefuegos.
We did, and we just wasted the money for the taxi as it is about 15 kilometers out of the town.
From a botanic gardn in the tropics you expect an explosion of colours and smells, well what you find is just a big park with hardly any flower, a lot of palms and bamboo and above all no written direction to show you where to go to find something interesting.
All in all, for me you can just miss it.
Fun Alternatives: If you have a couple of hours and don't know how to spend them a long walk on the malecon is much better.
