I was surprised to see so many little parks in Havana, but in a hot day (i.e. all the time) it was very pleasant to sit in the shadow for a while.
Fondest memory: My favourite park is on Plaza de Armas, it's so pretty.
In la Habana you can easily find everywhere in the streets people singing, playing and dancing! Cubans are really incredible they dance everywhere! And it's nice to stroll around the town listening to the music it gives a particular warm atmosphere!
It also can happens that someone invites you to dance!!!! But be aware! Cubans are incredible dancers! So...a little advice...take some lessons before!!! :-)))
But do not forget a......contribucion! 1 dollar, 2 dollars...it's up to you!!!!
Trying to rest a bit in Plaza des Armas....but if you'll walk alone there's no way to escape from local people there! You'll get assoulted! It's nice to talk with cubans to understand their way of living....generally they're all kind and nice people....always try to be gentle with them and if sometimes it happens that they try to abuse of your gentleness simply talk with them and let them understand it!
Sometimes someone may ask you :seniorita tu tiene compromesso? Are you married or do you have a boyfriend? Answer yes and they do not "bother" you...too much!! :-)
PLAZA DE ARMAS
Here start the 'Obispo' and 'O'Reilly' streets, and it uses to be the starting point to visit Old Havana. If you are looking for an 'independent' guide to show you Havana, this is the place.
