Built along the Northern coastline of Havana, during the early 1900's EL MALECON is a favourite walk for the locals and tourist alike. It runs along the main arteries of Havana and provides incredible views of the Bay. The famous 12 kilometre oceanside road links Old Havana to the busy neighbourhood of Vedado,
We could see children playing, locals fishing, and folks just enjoying the afternoon of bright sunshine.
Walking along the malecon is one of the nices things in Havana, Looking at the beautiful old buildings around, the sea and the sunsets ...just lovely.
Thats one of the places where many Local gaet together and spend their free time.
El Malecon Habanero
Fondest memory: One of my favorite things about Havana is hanging out on the Malecon. This is where you can see people of all walks of life. This is Havana's front porch. From the beginning at 'La punta', Prado and ,Malecon, this here is where the entrance to the bay of Havana starts to the end just before you cross the bridge to Miramar you can get a look of all the diffrent types of characters that hangout and stroll on the seaside blvd...
U must spend some time in the malecon, where all the people use to go at last once to look the sunset.
U'll met there lot of different cuban people, with all our folklore and tastes. And you can't miss our beatifull beaches!!
Fondest memory: The beatifull view from the 'Cristo' located in the bay. It has a wonderfull view of the city and is a good place to rest while U're walking through the old havana.
This world famous seaside avenue is the soul of Havana. Take a walk up or down, meet the people that fish or swim there, admire the old 50's cars or the ruined old houses. To find it, ask anyone in the street: if he doesn't know where it is, he's definetly a tourist ;-))
Alot of people use to come to this area.
Where is it!!??
At the Malecon too,but closer to the sea, closer to Yemaya!!!
Under the Wall.

Fondest memory: One of the things I´ve enjoyed the most is diving and swimming at Malecón seawall.Nowadays it is almost imposible becouse of the polution. But I hope some day (Lennon)...and I won't be the onlyone!!
Favorite thing: At least once you have to walk through the whole Malecon. It's beautiful, relaxing and you can meet very nice and interesting people.
