This place is and will no doubt continue to be Cuba's best known bar. For afficionados of Ernest Hemmingway it may be worth a visit but beyond that it is stunningly unremarkable.
The bar area at the front is very small and if they get a dozen people in there it is like being a sardine. There's a restaurant area round the back where the have the walls plastered with photos of people who have visited who are well known in one way or another (big deal). Other than that there is nothing else to this other than over priced mojitos.
'La Bodeguita del Medio' was founded by Martinez in 1942
