Tropicana is a little expensive to go to but i think that you should go there if you are in Havana. The music is good, the costumes is fantastic and the artists are very good.

Dress Code: No special dresscode but people coming there tend to have nice evening clothes on.

Tropicana is the oldest Cabaret show. It's located in Havana. There are dinner and show tours nightly or over night from most hotels and resorts. Its a grand show at an outdoor theatre with many dancers in elaborate costumes.

Dress Code: No dress code.

Tropicana dancer 2005

Even though the Tropicana cabaret is a bit pricy it’s worth every convertible pesos.

The dancers, the dresses and the live music all make you just sit back and enjoy the atmosphere at the outdoor scene that is converted to a dance floor for the audience after the show.

I had a ringside seat and almost had to duck when the skirts were whirling :-)

If you want to take pictures it’s an extra 5 CUC.
You can see more of my pictures from Tropicana at http://cuba.atheart.dk

If you want to take video it’s an extra 15 CUC.

My recipe for the camera was checked twice. Just keep it in you shirt pocket and the whole deal of showing it is a 3 second thing - no need to take your eyes off the show!

The fantasies in the show can challenge everyone. When my 7 year old nephew saw my pictures he was totally amused: “She’s dancing with a chandelier on her head. It’s lit, and it hasn’t even fallen from the ceiling? :-)

Tropicana Cabaret: Tropicana Cabaret in Havana , STAY AWAY !!!
PHILCAN profile photo

Save your money , thrid rated stage show , tired 50's style , lame dance and poorly performed.

The whole thing is a state run cash cow milked daily for hard currency .. I really hope it helps the poor cuban people somewhat , otherwise , it is a complete RIP OFF !

On top of the$85 tickets , a drink before the show ? sure $5 bucks! Have a camara ? yes another $5 bucks!

My advice , save you money , for $100US , you can eat at the best resturante and dance the night away in old havana for a whole weekend instead of that 2 hours lousy stage show!

Dress Code: Yes , this to make you feel you are going to a fancy show , which it is NOT !

The only fancy thing about this is their price , everything else runs like a money grab routine.

Tropicana show

It's spectacular and expensive (we paid 75 USD each and got a cola, 0.5 l rum, tapas and a little bottle of sparkling wine). I'm happy I've seen it, but once is enough.
It's possible to have dinner before the show in an elegant restaurant with live piano music. The food is nothing special, as usually.
The picture is from http://www.cubacom.net/tropicana/, as I didn't take my camera to the club (I was sorry afterwards - it is allowed to take photos, but only with a permit).

Dress Code: I don't know if there are any rules (probably no jeans and shorts), but most people were fairly elegant.

Tickets vary in price depending on how close to stage you are, rum included!
Also often after the show they lower the stage and have a dance band play.

If you're going to Havana, you should go and enjoy cabaret culture.
The dancers wear luxurious and gorgeous costumes.
You will be satisfied with Latin jazz.

Dress Code: It's desirable for you to dress formal.
