The greatest thing about this restaurant is its location. It is a bit more quiet than some of the other restaurants and the terrace offers a great view of the Fortaleza, which makes for a nice and relaxing atmosphere. The food was alright but not the best we've had in Havana, and the band that was playing that night was, hem, let's say below average. But all in all it felt really good to kick back and enjoy the view.

The D'Giovanni Restaurant, one of the most outstanding expressions of the Italian cuisine, is housed in a Mudejar style mansion from the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. From its balconies people can enjoy the magnificent view which can hardly be enjoyed from other parts of the city.
While savoring delicious Italian products and international cuisine dishes, clients can take the most amazing pictures of cruise ships and other vessels navigating the harbor of Havana, and by the Real Fuerza and Tres Reyes Magos del Morro castles, the San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress and the San Carlos and San Ambrosio Seminar. People can also hear and see the firing of the Morro Castle cannon at nine o clock, a colonial times tradition that still endures.
Favorite Dish: Pizza D'Giovanni
Dough is prepared with Canadian flour, covered with cured ham, fresh vegetables and sausage; it is then sprinkled with olive oil and decorated with black olives.

A Cuban version of Italian. Not overexciting - pizzas were OK but nothing special. Tinned vegetables.
Building itself is lovely: either sit in the interior courtyard (many levels), the dark wooden-decored interior rooms or, if you are very lucky, on the balcony overlooking the Canal de Entrada and the weekend market
