Favorite thing:
Stay on the beach, and visit the city!

The beaches are breath taking in Holguin and the temperature tends to be the best in this part of Cuba year round. In Holguin, since it is the dryest area in the country, you will have the least chance of precipitation regardless of the season. Also, there is no humidex factor!! Put your lotion on, whatever you are doing, because you will burn, burn, burn...



Fondest memory:
face=verdana)People! I've met people all over Cuba and it seems that somehow we always make the most friends in Holguin, whether it's the resort staff or country people... I swam with dolphins here, lost my glasses, and ate the best coconut in my life:)

Favorite thing: You must meet the people. They are proud of themselves and will make you feel like family. It is always such a pleasure to arrive and have all of your old amigos come to see you.

Fondest memory: My fondest memory is getting married to my wife Jan, at a beachside bar on Guardalavca Beach called El Caney. Rei, Alex and all of our Cuban friends were our guests of honour and Chevy (our Cuban Papa) stood up for Jan.

Favorite thing: The people in cuba are poor but so nice and unbelievably happy with so little. Their hospitality incredible.

Fondest memory: Buying the couterfiet cuban cigars and watching them unravel in our mouths as we tried to smoke them. What a laught. The best fun and entertainment yet. I don't think any one of us regretted buying them just for the fun it gave us in the end. Nights of guessing if they were real or not and laughing at the sight of us trying to smoke them.

Favorite thing: meet a lot of people, take pictures of cars and maybe you can drive with one, see the church in the centro, buy peanuts from an old man for a few pesos, sitt down in the middle of the centro and just sitt and watch.

Fondest memory: A drive in an old brown car......and all the other things i liked...there are to much to fit in this little screen...

Favorite thing: Bring lots of stuff for the kids and the people. Such as stuffed animals, crayons, make-up, books, etc. It will make such a difference in their lives. I had people crying when I gave them things..
