The view of Holguin

This place has not been in the guidebooks I have seen as it is relatively new. It has a covered area for dollar paying guests and another patio style area for people wanting to pay in pesos. I thought it was going to be much more expensive than it was but most entrees were about $3-6. Not sure about the peso menu. Service was polite but the food was slow to appear. I am recommendingthis place solely for the view!

Favorite Dish: I was not disappointed with my seafood enchilada which is nothing like a Mexican enchilada. Just some fish in a tomato based sauce with some rice on the side. The others chose beef dishes that were overcooked as usual in Cuba.

Frans and Raffie drinking beer

There are no restaurants like in other touristcountries atleast not were we went. But we eat something on the corner of the centro national and that was very nice. We had pizza (what else) and dronk beer. Cristal beer in cans is the best there is in Cuba. Ofcourse there are the 'livingroom' restaurants and you can eat there like being god in France. Mostly it is chicken or pork, with bananas, tomatoes, oinon, rice with black beans. Everything is very nice and it is not expensive.
We have been in a 'livingroom' restaurant in Banes and in Holguin and both are great. For four people it will cost you about 35 dollars with tip! And that is beer, wine and food.

Favorite Dish: I love chicken. So i do not have a problem in Cuba hihi But if you take pork you will be fine.
Also the bananas (instead of patatoes) are nice.

Holguin cuba does not have any resuraunts execpt in the hotels. The best was in the large chain hotel down the beach. Since we were all inclusive we did not go there but enjoyed many local drinks.
