Little Oasis in the Heart of Varadero

Josone Park is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Stop by the outdoor patio bar and sample the best Pina Colada you have ever tasted! 3CUC is all it costs for this nectar of the gods. You can admire the views at the same time. Service in this patio bar is always fabulous. There are also several restaurants in the park, all of them serve very good food. This is a great place to come for ropa vieja.

This is one of the 15 archaeological sites on the peninsula which contain testimony of Indian customs. It is 820 feet (250 m)long and has five interconnecting galleries. The cave contains 72 rupestrian drawings-one of the largest collection of Indian pictographs in the Caribbean islands. During the colonial period, runaway slaves used to take refuge in the cave.

Entrance 3 peso. Be prepared for lots of bats

It date back from 1938, with an irregular structure in which stones and wood are predominant. The church, whose local tile roof rests on thick beams, has double doors and windows. The upper front side features a suspended half arch that serves as the bell tower and ends in a cross.

There is quite a lot to do in Varadero. The local mall is fun with shops, restauants and bars. There is also horse and buggy rides, mopeds etc.You can also take boat rides on the lake through the swamps.

On your way from Matanzas to Varadero, you will reach the bridge 'Puente de Bacunayagua'. Although it is part of a motorway-style highway, you can stop on the bridge. The view from the bridge across the 'Yumuri Valley' is breathtaking.

Varadero is a pretty town with a lot of typical little houses made of wood and painted of bright colours. You can find them in all the Caribbean islands. Some of these houses are so small than they look like dolls houses.
