After a nice walk among the mogotes and caves in the valley of Vinales, it is a good idea to
spend a day or two in this intersting village along the road.
Fondest memory: Friendly people, good food in casa particular, quiet central avenue and always not far from the
Its the countryside and a chance to relax that is the attraction of Vinales. The pace is slow, the countryside stunning, commercial development low.
Fondest memory: The fabulous scenery, the dramatic changes following a storm, the relaxation and the hotel Los Jazmines
Favorite thing: The Vinales valley is a tobacco growing region, but there are also plots of coffee, bananas, cassava, malanga, cabbage, tomatoes, beans, corn and the list could go on. These kinds of little huts are used for drying tobacco, but might be used for other purposes as well.
Favorite thing: Traditional techniques are still in use for tobacco production and the ancient Tobacco’s Houses are still used for drying Tobacco leaves.
Favorite thing: This is in an old mansion on the main street of Viñales with a square in front and the town church next to it. Art gallery, cultural activities and generally very impressive!
