Cuban highway is definitly an experience.
The first time that I saw the highway was coming from Havana to Vinales and I first noticed that there was no traffic then, we started to meet farmers hitchhiking in the street and then bikers and finally even carts drawn by horses.
It was total anarchy and if someone realised to be in the wrong direction, they simply went over the green separating the lanes and change direction.

The ‘novela’ is something almost every Cuban watches! It’s some sort of TV show, extremely popular at night.
When I went to Viñales it was from 9 to 10 PM (or so)… and the whole town was dead till it was over. I mean, nightlife didn’t exist until after 10 or 10:30 PM!!

Guarapo (cane juice) is very refreshing on a hot summer day! It is not super sweet as some ppl think. In fact, the sugar content is about the same as other fruit juice.
You can find them freshly pressed for US$1 by the exit of Cueva del Indio. For another dollar or so, rum is added to give it some kicks!

I took a day trip from Havana to this famous valley with unusual conical hills. It was definitely worth the 2-hour drive! The area was covered with tobacco fields, where Cuba's finest are grown here.
