Fortunatly during our excursion to Vinales we stopped in this restaurant to have lunch, this infact, had been the only time that we stayed in a restaurant during all our trip in Cuba.
We had nothing against restaurant but the food in the casa particulares was so good that we just did not need any restaurant.
Favorite Dish: Here we also had the chance to eat some creol dishes as in the casas we ate just fish and lobsters.
The black beans with rise was definitly good but the chicken they gave us later was excellent.

Ordinary food at best. Nothing special. But keep in mind, you dont come to Cuba for gourmet delights and you have to get used to lack of variety in taste.
cheaper than casa particular food and just about the same everyday quality to food.
Favorite Dish: A great setting though. Mojito at 2 cuc was not bad either..

Oldest building in Vinales.
Favorite Dish: Cocktails! The best food in Vinales was here but to be honest that's not saying very much as there is a very limited choice (for obvious reasons). Fish, pork and chicken the usual offerings wherever you go - here at least the was a variance in presentation and it set in a lovely old building (or on the terrace). But if you sit on the terrace, watch out for the mozzies.

There isn't much to choose in Vinales but across from the bus station there is a bar that serves ok pasta. Best you eat in your casa though.

The food is adquate and the prices are not the best deal but the open-air patio out back of this colonial mansion is very pleasant and peaceful!
Favorite Dish: You can get a sampler platter of Cuban cuisine for $8.

At the beginning we thought to spend a few days in Vinales but once in Cuba, we soon realised that a day trip was enough for what we were interested in.

I took a day trip from Havana to this famous valley with unusual conical hills. It was definitely worth the 2-hour drive! The area was covered with tobacco fields, where Cuba's finest are grown here.
