What is said as a nice cave to visit, isn't worth the few peso you pay. You get in, you walk down and when the phone rings, you pick it up and then a small boat takes you for a short ride in one direction and after a few hundred metres it turns around and then they point out the face to the Indian and then you are outside.
Smile and say to yourself, yes I was warned. The few peso that you pay, you want feel in your purse.

In any guide you will read that in Vinales you can visit the prehistorical murales.
Calling those murales prehistorical gives you the idea that they had been made thousends years ago.
Well actually they have been made in 1961 and the name"prehistorical" was given to them just because they are meant to rapresent the theory of evolution, in my opinion it's just something kitch that ruin the landscape. Leave a Comment

Three was a time when staying a private cuban home had a certain amount of charm but right now the relationship is strictly one of economic survival and difficulties. I know people who rent rooms in La Habana and all of them wish they did not rent rooms, since they are not that interested in the tourists other than for the income. Well, the mural is just HORRIBLE.
They can be found walking south-west from Viñales, then following the road heading west. There is a turn-off on the right. This is about 4 kms away.
There are great views of the mogotes and villages along the way. Just keep an open mind and come here to be amused by the mural. You can see the mural from afar, there is no need to pay entrance. Leave a Comment
