Nightclubs and bars in Trinidad

This place must be a gold mine. Its set on the side of a hill with a stage set up outside. The steps on the hill thus make something of a natural theatre meaning they can get a crowd of maybe up to a couple of hundred.

Nothing much happens in the before 9 when the crown takes their seats. There's a small area at the front between some seats and the stage where people can dance. The quality of the performers seemed pretty good to me and of course in between songs someone from each band will circulate trying to persuade you to part with your cash.

By 11.30 during the week at least, most people seem to be on their way to sleep.

This is a disco created inside a mountain grotto, it's a few kilometers from the city centre and you can come walking, but, as the streets are dark and it is located up in a hill, a taxi may be a better idea.
The ticket is 3 cuc per person and includes a drink, we came here on a saturday night and it was really full of people, probably too many for such a small place.
The mojito they do is simply awfull, as my casa's owner said: they use gasolina(oil) instead of rum.
The disco is opened untill 3 am.

Dress Code: You can enter whatever you wear but I must say people dress code was pretty formal.

This is one of the best nightclubs I’ve ever been to! It’s inside a cave!! There’s some sort of hole at the top of a hill, then you start going downstairs… downstairs… and you finally get to a big space with tons of spot-lights, and you keep looking around… and it’s a cave! It’s awesome!! The whole place is a blast!

The weird thing, and you’ll find that all over Cuba… are the DJs. The go from salsa… to reggeaton… to some sort of slow ballad!! They mix everything.

It’s the nightclub at the very end of the escalinata… you can access from there, or from the other side (see the picture in this tip). The funny thing about this club is the fact that is ‘roofless’!! You’re dancing some salsa or reggeaton underneath an amazing sky full of stars!

The party here begins, when the show at the escalinata ends… which is usually after midnight.

It begins right next to the main square and the cathedral… if you go during the day, you’ll only see a stairway. But at night, it’s where everybody hangs out. There are salsa or afro-Cuban shows every night, two bar on each side with tables outside. It gets a very nice atmosphere! Everybody sitting there, drinking rum or beer… just chilling while some couples dance salsa.

Nightclub located in caves. Very impressive. It is not very easy to find in the dark but all the locals will be able to show you where it is. There is a limited amount of people aloud in the caves so it’s better to be there on time even though the club is scarringly quiet before midnight.
