Coco Taxi, Trinidad

The best way to go around Trinidad is just walking, so in the twon you absolutely do not need any transport.
You need one if you want to go to Playa Ancon which is about 15 kilometers from the city.You can go by taxi which costs 4 cuc per person or by cocotaxi which costs 2 cuc per person or by bus which is inexpensive.

If you’re traveling on your own, it’s the cheapest way to go from Trinidad to Playa de Ancón… you pay from 2 to 4 CUC, it’s not the same if you go alone or with somebody else.

The Coco-Taxi is like a three-wheeled motorcycle with some sort of plastic roof around it… like a guy one day told me in the street, “we (Cubans) are ‘ingenieros del ingerto’”!!

We found the Coco Taxi to be the most affordable way to get around...$3.00 to La Boca from Trinidad, it was cheaper than the state run taxis.
