    Steps in Santiago

Take your time to explore the city and walk around. We met a local guy, Ernesto and old man who enjoys walking with tourists. He showed us some great places.

If you want to know more you can read about it in my travelogue: Walking with Ernesto through Santiago.

Padre Pico stairs. Long set of stairs near the harbour in Santiago. The locals said the neighbourhood at the top was dangerous but it wasn't. If you look really hard that's me in the shadows halfway up. Good view of the harbour at the top of the stairs.

Santiago de Cuba is built on hills, most of the streets in this city are all hilly and some are so steep that steps have been built to go up and down. One particular famous street in Santiago is Padre Pico which a street made of all steps.

Lots of streets here in Santiago are so steep that you have to climb steps.
