From the top of the "Gran Piedra" they say you can see Haiti and Jamaica on a clear day. Our trip up mountain wasn't on a clear day, but it was a beautiful view inbetween clouds. You can drive up most of the way, then there is a challenging staircase to the very top....but worth the climb...4048 feet. There is a restaurant there and a few wood carvings for sale.
A little before the top is an old coffee plantation with a coffee museum. On the way back, you will notice the grand valleys with the flowering red trees, and the one room school house that had only four students last year!
Watch your speed. They will pull you over here.
