None: In search of a good Cuban sandwich
The great Cuban sandwich is a famous treat in Miami. The fresh Cuba bread and stuffings came with the Cuban immigrants, so I thought I would enjoy an authentic sandwich in Cuba. On the first day, I found a bakery in Santiago, but the long lines and limited times for sale of bread caused me to miss my chance. It was not until Havana that I spotted another opportunity. At a certain time lines started to form on a bunch of streets in Havana. Acting like a native I joined a line and learned that sandwiches had arrived. The price was small, but the disappointment great. I could excuse the febile processed meat, cheese and mustard, but not the stale bread. All I know is that I never saw anything like the famous Cuban sandwich. The Cuba libres, mojitos, and dacquiri's were outstanding, but the street food was a disappointment. The hotel food was international without inspiration.
