    The State monopoly telecom in Cuba Etecsa will open early July 35 areas of WIFI in public areas all over the country. It will be the network WIFI_ETECSA this news appear in Juventud Rebelde newspaper from the spokesman from Etecsa Luis Manuel Díaz Naranjo. It will be done with contracts for the users of the network Nauta with a speed of 1 MB per user. The public spaces will be avenues, boulevards in several cities in the country not yet mention. Also, from July 1st the price per hour using internet will have a discount of 2 CUC for the users of Nauta, a reduction of about 50% to the usual cost. Currently , Cubans will have to go to special State control kiosks where the tariff is about 4,5 USDollars (3,9 euros),very expensive for a population where the salary medium per month is 25 USdollars (22,1 euros). The current numbers of users according to Juventud Rebelde article is of 800.000. Cuba being one of the countries in the world with the least internet access to about 5% of the entire population.

    Stayed tune, AMEX is asking ok to do business there and Mastercard just jump in the wagon and doing the same. The problem is the cash machines are many times not working and only about 398 in all Havana, long lines are expected now, imagine when all these new cards comes into play.

    Starting Friday,January 16 2015. U.S. companies will be able to export mobile phones, televisions, memory devices, recording devices, computers and software to Cuba. Americans permitted to travel to Cuba for family visits, official U.S. government business, journalism, research, education, religious activity and other reasons fall under a U.S. general license and don't need to apply for a separate license. Americans visiting Cuba will be allowed to bring home $100 in alcohol and tobacco products, and $400 in total goods. No more limits on how much money Americans spend in Cuba each day or what they spend it on. Permissible use of U.S. credit and debit cards.Travel agents and airlines can fly to Cuba without a special license. Insurance companies can provide coverage for health, life and travel insurance policies for individuals residing in or visiting Cuba. Financial institutions may open accounts at Cuban banks to facilitate authorized transactions. Investments can be made in some small businesses and agricultural operations.
