Walking alot? Don't suggest sandals or flip-flops. I'd rather take comfortable walking shoes... it rains sporadically throughout the day so keep a small umbrella handy. Save the sandals for the beach!
Take some Wet Ones.
OFF bug repellant!
Keep a First Aid kit handy.
Definitely stack up on cameras.
Swim suit; flip-flops; beach stuff!

bathing suit, sunglasses are a must, sandals, t-shirts, tanks, pack for hot weather all year round and if going during december, january, pack a light long sleeve shirt you can put on at night for if it gets cool. But generally be ready for heat 99% of the time.
Never ever forget sunscreen. I had a hard time finding some because the locals dont use it. Bring insect repellant and something you can put on the insect bites, like vicks vapor rub which works well to stop the itching,
Be prepared to take loads of pictures because the place is beautiful.
