The nightclub at this resort was pretty cool. The music was hip-hop, trance, house, rasta. I danced all night long. The bartender was hilarous and made the night fun with rounds upon rounds of tequila. Oh the headache in the morning, thank goodness for the beach. Leave a Comment Theme: Dancing

by quartinb at a all inclusive resort nite offers are very few and narrow. it resumes to a discoteque, and a couple of half 'n hour shows. of course, if yu travel with kids, the disco is not suitable. so, we' ve spent nites, after the shows and animation they provide, just by the pool side by side with the beach, watchin' the stars and talkin' with other travel mates.
no jacquet requiredLOL Leave a Comment Theme: People Watching

a lot of night clubs and bars for all kind of people!
If you want to wear jeans i suggest you combine it with a cute top and sandals, no snikers or flip flops allowed in any bar. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: Zona ColonialDirections: anywhere!! just get to the Colonial Zone

We once went to a touristic disco. It was great, but we didn't like the people there. They were only looking for tourists. After this disco, we only went to disco's with some of our Dominican friends. They knew were to go. We went to Carwash, Orion and Plaza Mambo's. Sosua has some very nice merengue bars, but there are not very much disco's. Puerto Plata has got some really great disco's. If you are in Sosua, you can take a taxi to Puerto Plata. We went to one disco at Sosua, called Toucan. It is a bit touristic, but it's really nog bad. We really like to dance the Merengue, so we were very happy to be at the Dominican Republic. The only thing you hear is Merengue, Bachata and Salsa. It's perfect! Everybody that goes to the Dominican Republic has to learn the Merengue. It is not very difficult.
You can put on anything. The dresscode is not very difficult. Just put on something nice, and do not forget your dancing-shoes! Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicDirections: Puerto Plata, Sosua

Yes in puerto plata is lots to do! There are 3 major discos. 1. High Caribbean 2. T...something (tuka i think - Forgot the name) 3. Copa Cabana Copa Cabana was very close to my hotel but I din't like it as much. It was o.k. I liked the High Caribbean best. There are discos at some big hotels at well. But you usually need to be a guest of this hotel. (you get a wrist ribbon - so they can identify you) But if you are smart and quick you'll get in there too! lots of bars!!! There is one on every corner! tip: Check out the jail club ;)) Leave a Comment Theme: Live Music

by datdanigirl The Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort has two nightclubs, a discoteca that plays popular music (mostly American) and a Spanish club that plays Latin music for Merengue, Salsa etc. Both were definitely hot spots for the entire week I was there (yes I visited it NEARLY every night, and the night I missed (Friday) was the night they had a live band and was REALLY happening, and of course I missed it due to being there for the 5 nights previous (okay due to hangover and exhaustion.. Thursday night was a rough one!) The Spanish club at the Plaza Dominicana is called 'Las Canas' [less CON yahs] and many of the resort workers go there. They are very entertaining and more than happy to teach you how to dance their local merengue..
Gentlemen must wear long pants to the discoteca. Most men were wearing pants at Las Canas as well, but it didn't appear to be a requirement as it's somewhat open-air and there isn't a doorman. Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicDirections: In the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort complex, the two are practically across the street from each other. Las Canas is at the Plaza Dominicana, a shopping center area, and the Discoteca Bavaro is a standOther Contact: Don't bother showing up before 1

Yes, Dish TV in the Dominican Republic by melosh If you get tired of drinking and dancing through the night, you can always just chill out and enjoy a little Dish TV. You may be surprised how far it reaches throughout the Republic. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

the stage by chicabonita Great ambience in the amphitheatre. I visited the Heineken Jazz Festival. And even if I am not a real jazz fan, in fact it was maybe the first time a really listened to jazz, it was a great evening. Leave a Comment Theme: Live Music

by mocca There are a lot of places to have a good party, the local places where only locals come you can see one of the best merengue dancing going on in the world. The bars and pubs, but be aware when there, prostitutes will flok there trying to get some money of the rich foreigners. The night clubs where you have to pay entrance, they are pretty empty during the week (most tourist will go to the bars and pubs) but in the weekends the locals will flok over here and dance away the night The one to go to in Sosua when I was there is MOby Dick's Leave a Comment Theme: Live Music

by AniaKuzma In the Dominican - there's always something to do at night. If you go to a resort you'll enjoy evening shows from around 9:00 p.m. till 11:00 p.m. Then... the real party begins. You can party at your resort disco or decide to be adventurous and check out one of the many local discos. We were feeling adventurous most of the time - and we had a blast. But we always went in groups to be safe. Ladies! Watch out! You may walk into a bar single but you might leave engaged to be married. To more than one man. At least they will convince you that you are. Dancing is awesome in Dominican - I love their music. And they know how to dance!
Anything goes - but local girls really go all out (gold, silver, wery tight and revealing), so if you're insecure keep that in mind. Otherwise wear whatever you wish, we did:) Leave a Comment Theme: Dancing
