The Monument to the Restoration
Close to the Haitian border you'll find the Monument to the Restoration. It was raised to celebrate 14 Dominicans led by Santiago Rodriguez, who August 16, 1863 crossed the border from Haiti into Dominican territory and raised the Dominican flag – signalling the beginning of a new war for independence from Spain.
It looks like the Monument is made of concrete, and I don't really know what to call the monument - maybe strange or random... There are free admission to the Monument.Related to:
