Our Dominican friends were asking waiters this question all the time, everywhere we go... ("What is the coolest beer you have'"). It was kind of obssesion... Well, we realised that having a very cold Presidente at the beach was nice!

    The coconut milk

    Climbing up a palmtree

Do you want to try the coconut milk, perhaps a drink mixed with rhum? No problem! The locals climb up the palmtrees like monkeys and can get you a frech coconut. Then they cut it off with a single chop of their machete and you'll can drink the milk (actually it isn't so good...but it's so exotic!!).

    The secret of life...

    by Joan58 Written Mar 17, 2003
    Children living in a farm

It's a stange thing to visit a farm in the inland. There are some little ... very little houses isolated in the middle of sugar can plantations. The local people's means of transport, only an ass. And you ask yourself how they can live in this way, but they are so nice and kind and look happy to live in this simple manner. Could that be the secret of life?

    Plantations in the inland

The Isla Hispaniola is very wide. Many people who live in the inland have never see the sea. Really a strange thing!!
