Around Bayahibe, just like in many other places in the DR, you can enjoy very good jungle trekking and you can kayak or canoe on many rivers.

You can ask around about renting a kayak or a canoe. There are also some organized excursions organized by most tourist resorts.

On the beach there are many sports activities to do. You can play beachvolleyball, play bowls on the sand or you can canoe or go sailing.

Bayahibe has even got a Billard hall!!! The domenicans obviously like to play the game, some are very good at it some play terrible, everybody has fun wich is most important. The place is not only used to play billard but is a spot where the people meet too.

The thing I liked most about the billard hall at Bayahibe is, that its, unlike most others, non-smoking!

There are 4 Tables to play on, one game costs RD$ 5.--, so very very cheap. There is a bar too, where you can get drinks.

The place is probably the coldest public house in Bayahibe. The air con is allways on, so perhaps you need to have a light jacket with you.

    There is everything there!

The Dominicans love playing Baseball!!! I had great fun watching a game. I don't know the rules and how the game works but it was fun just watching. When they are practising i'm sure they will let you play with them if you want.
    .
The field isn't green and flat and hasn't got much infrastructure, but the dominicans obviously don't mind and have their fun anyway.

Diving Instructors having a Sunset-Beer after work - Bayahibe

    Sunset-Beer after work

Everybody told me that I'm an idiot for not have gone diving, specialy as I know two of the instructors who worked there.

I saw the underwaterwold snorkeling and enjoyed that very much. There are hundreds of little and big fish in all colours, underwater plants and corals to be seen. For divers there is a wreck and much more to see. Perhaps I will start diving one day....

There are 3 diving schools in Bayahibe wich don't belong to one of the resorts. The services they offer are more or less the same. The one my friends worked at is run by a swiss and is called "Casa Daniel", the others are called "Scubafun" and "Scobadoo".

If you want to make contact with the diving instructort go to the sea front near the Casa Daniel in the evening, there most of the divers come together after work for a beer and to watch the sunset.

Everything you need can be rented there!
