there are a few different atv tours depending on what hotel you sign up with but the tour i went on was a good tour ,fairly cheap, fun, about 2 hours long and the tour guides were awesome, they spoke 5 different languages between the two of them(english, french, spanish, italian and some dutch) and the main tour guide was very nice and fun person two thumbs up here =) The tour went a little like this first we went the the marker where the atlantic oceans mets the caribbean sea, to an one of the first hotels built in punta cana the owner was some drug lord and he got arrested and went to jail and then the local dominicans looted the hotel and then a few years later a hurricane finished it off, it was a pretty cool sight to see, then next was a view of the private property of the punta cana group (Antonio Banderas,Julio Igesias "Enrique Igesias father" ,Oscar de La Renta "famous dominican designer" ) just to name a few which are also owners the punta cana airport the first privately owned airport in the world. then next we went down some roads and trails for a bit and to the place where there going to be building a highway straight to santo domingo (the capital) without needed to go thur the towns and citys on the way. Last but not least we stopped at some local dominicans house on the beach where they the kids selling some shell neckless you can also go for a quick swim if you want and that pretty much ends the tour.
You can't go to the Dominican Republic and not rent an ATV! They are a wonderful way to not only bomb around and have some fun, but also see a slice of life, off the resort.
Prices do vary, so you'll need to do your homework. Check the rates at your hotel, as well as along the beach. You will probably be able to bargain a little more from the beach vendors.
Typically the ride will be around 2 hours, and you will go through town, and along the beach. There will be a place to stop along the way for a cold drink, and to check out the local watering hole.
Be sure to wear sunscreen and your bathing suit, and bring your camera!!
