    Supreme Snorkeling & Outsatnding Safari

by PuntaCanaAngel Written Oct 3, 2012

Dreams Palm Beach is a very beautiful cozy hotel, with an amazing beach and a tremendous customer service, we would highly recomend it. My wife and I had an remarkable vacation last year. The weather in nov and dec is cooler than usual, normally in the high 80s. Concerning watersports and excursionwise you should get in touch with the guys at customerservice@funexcursions.com, angel was really helpful, they really helped us in deciding which excursions where the better value for your money. We ended up riding our own speedboats and doing a safari around the puntacana area taht was not only fun but also eductaional, not to mention the beer and mamajuana never stopped flowing, and it was awesome!!! they also set us up with a free cigar & shopping tour. Hope this helps you.

    by johncooper911 Written Dec 22, 2011

If you are going to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic This is a must do adventure! A full day outting so be prepared. Kurt the owner will take very good care of you and your belongings. The buggy is super fun to drive and all of the stops are well worth it. Each is interesting and fun in it's own way. a small country store, small cave on top of a hill, on the beach and finally at a cigar factory Highly recommend this tour for everyone...

Tabacalera de Garcia Cigar Factory Tour

by juancpena Updated Jan 31, 2011

Over 4,000 workers making some of the world's most highly regarded Dominican cigars! Definitely one of the best experiences and most entertaining two hours I've spent on a tour. The staff is very friendly and helpful when picking from dozens of different cigars.

Only a cab ride away from Punta Cana, located in nearby La Romana. Several trip formats available, I took the 120 minute VIP tour and tasted a Seijas Signature cigar. Wonderful!!

    Stand Up Paddle Boarding

    by YB1 Written Jan 18, 2010

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This new, fun, eco-friendly water activity is now available in Punta Cana.
It's a variation of surfing but done on flat water. You stand on a extra long surfboard and propel yourself across the water with a long paddle. Standing on your paddle board gives you a fantastic view of the coastline and the sea life below.

It has a quick learning curve and anyone from 8 to 80 who can walk without difficulties will be standing up and paddling in their first lesson.

They operate from a variety of beaches along the Punta Cana coast depending on weather conditions so you'll get to see a different beach too.

You have to visit Chichen Itza!!

by wlightfoot Written May 1, 2009

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The ancient Mayan capital of Chichen Itza is an archaeological zone in the eastern region of the state of Yucatan. The tour will take you back in time to the pre-Hispanic Mayan people

Chichen Itza was an awesome place, not only for the archaeology, but for the history and the charming allure of the ancient Mayan people.

    THIS IS SOMETHING PERSONAL

by MaheshSamtani Written Dec 30, 2006

My family and myself enjoyed something that we had very carefully planned and worked out to perfection and that really gave us a lot of satisfaction. We were practically sure that we were going to have a great holiday and thought of giving something symbolic in return to the local people. We decided to carry with us some school material for the children, we got some books, color pencils, cases, rulers, sharpeners and other colourfull objects for children, which we gave out to children at a nearby town. This gave us a lot of joy and would recomend trying.

    Learn to Dance

by thetimidtraveller Written Jun 24, 2006

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Ok... I'll admit that when I learned that there were dance lessons by the pool every day I wasn't into it. It took a couple of days of watching everyone have so much fun to make me realize that I had to try. I really WAS fun!! It was ridiculous fun for me and my friends to be up there trying to learn these moves and making a mess of it. Definitly something you should take part in while you are there if your resort offers it.

    Santo Domingo

by UneBanane Written Nov 27, 2005

I took a day trip to Santo Domingo which was about $65 USD. They take you to underground caves and springs, show you around the colonial city. There you take tours of Columbus' palace, the Partheon and the first Cathedral of the Americas. There is a buffet lunch included and you are allowed to wander the city and shop. The trip is a whole day trip with travel to the city about 3hrs by bus either way.

    Go Para-Sailing!!

by OSpencers Written Aug 31, 2005

    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This was the one activity the we both decided to do before we left!! We had seen a couple people going out but decided to wait a day to go up. We had seen a couple go up tandem and decided to give that a try. We paid with credit card (to save cash) at the water sports desk. We had no trouble with our credit card billing! The bill is submitted in Dominican Pesos and the counter guy showed me on the calculator how much it converted to in US$. Got the bill, no problem (the credit card did get $2 for foreign currency conversion - who's ripping who off).

Cost $40 each or $75 for tandem. We went with the tandem but when we got out to the boat, the guy driving the boat was concerned that we were a little heavy to go tandem. Not that we weighed too much but that you had to go out much further from shore past the reef to take two adult tandem. We agreed to pay the $5 when we got back so as to avoid the big waves. Maybe it was true maybe not.

Anyway we both had a great time!! You can see everything for several miles around. The water was awesome and a hundred shades of blue. Since it was slow they took a little longer with us. They slowed down a couple times to let you get close to the water and then took off to send you back up in the air. They did dunk us each one time!!

Even though I'm afraid of heights I didn't have any trouble with this. The harness is like sitting in a swing that is a little too small. With the water below you it is hard to tell just how far up you are, but from the shore you know it is far
