Altos de Chavón, or Chavón as we locals call it, is a replica of a Mediterranean village located on the heights of the Chavón river, which you can see if you step down some stairs (I haven't done it). It has a church that hosts no more than 10 people (where weddings can take place), boutiques, a museum, a gallery, an amphitheater and a renowned school of design. Scenes from Apocalypse Now were filmed here.
The amphitheater hosts concerts every now and then. Here I saw Duran Duran :)
