Taste: New Eclectic find
Good food at a reasonable price. Lot of variety from sushi to seafood and burgers. Nice setting and good service. The burgers were quite good and the sushi was aceptable but a nice change to the typical food.

Very good extensive and creative dishes. A small intamate rest. Reminds us of the small family run European Rest. in a tropical setting. Owner Micky is Austrian chef. Just a wonderful experience. Only complaint they had no fresh juice to offer. The rack of lamb, not very caribbean but was very well done. The salmon was nice.
Good food in Playa Dorado complex, nice atmosphere, good service and most of the dishes were quite good. Prices are out of line for the market, too high. This was our second visit and we were not as satified as our last time in 04. Be aware that most places add a 10% service charge and th 16% sales tax. So expect to 26% more than you thought. Al Fresco- sushi roll, lightly fried with shrimpEnsalada Al Freco very niceSeafood soup very good as well
This was the second a la carte restaurant at the Viva Wyndham Playa Dorada all-inclusive. Not as good as the Ibiza beach restaurant but still very enjoyable. Restaurant is japanese-style decor indoors, near the pool area. We tried the peking-style duck crepes for appetizer, chicken satay and ginger curried salmon for entrees, and tempura ice cream and banana cocunut crepes for dessert. A good variety of menu items to choose from included offerings from a variety of countries and also included sushi, mison soup, thia spring rolls, and korean pork.

Stopped for a drink and quick bite at this pub while we were shopping in the plaza one day. Nothing remarkable about the food or the ambience here. Fare was typical north american burgers, appies, sandwiches, etc., but might be good if you want a change of pace from all-inclusive buffet food or like the familiar while you are away from home.
This restaurant is one of two a la carte (as opposed to buffet) restaurants available at the Viva Wyndha, Playa Dorada all-inclusive resort. Guests are only supposed to dine at each of the a la carte restaurants once a week, but they will let you go twice if it isn't very busy. I have to say that the Ibiza is the nicest a la carte restaurant I have been to at an all-inclusive resort. The quality was consistently good, the choices excellent (6 or 7 choices per course), the service superior, and the ambience wonderful. The restaurant doubles as a beach bar and snack bar during the day and is located right on the beach. It is very romantic by candlelight, listening to the waves lapping on the beach. They start you out with a cocktail and shrimp toast, followed by your choice of appetizer. Over two nights we tried the gazpacho, smoked salmon tartar, and french onion soup. Mains we tried...

The setting, service and food are perfect. We went back twice and it was not enough. It is expensive but the best place we found on the north coast, by far. The salad with goat cheese and shrip ceviche superb. As a main course the filet of beef with a morrel sauce is fantastic, The salmon was very good as well.
At mid distance from Playa Dorada resort and Puerto Plata, el 26 is a nice snack bar held by a guy from Québec which is married to a dominican girl. This is thus a nice place to read the Journal de Montréal (newspaper) while having a breakfast or lunch like at home.Nice atmosphere De la poutine câline !!!For those who wouldn't know, poutine is the name of the favorite fast food in Québec, and it is french-fries with cheese curd and gravy.
In this hotel, they are three restaurants; italian, mexican and a grill. This one is the grill... When you have a all include, you can go one time in each restaurant. They are very good! I took the big spareribs and there are EXCELLENT !!

We have been to Mura Mai and to Under the Waterfront. At Mura Mai in Sosua we have eaten some really nice meat and at the Waterfront we had some fish. I loved both. And not the expensive so you can do that aswell. I am sorry to say that i am now allergic to all the fish there is in this world, but i had the oppertunity to eat it once at the Waterfront. We had great qualities!! They even made us some french patatoes. We really wanted them, but because there was no buffet they weren't there. They made it specially for us.....so thats unique ! My husband and i eat almost everything, so thats good. But when we went to this Hotel there were 14 people at the most, so they we making meals like in a restaurant and not like buffet. So we had a lovely meal every lunch and diner. I love at the restaurants the fish and the meat, i can not choise one of them. Sorry to say. I loved the chicken with...
