FRESH BEANS ON SALE ON THE MARKET!
These are bags of beans for sale on the produce market in Dominican Rep, they are pick the day before and sold about the same day they come to the market in the city, people(women 99.99%)buy them daily because they like them fresh rather than from prepackaged bags in the supermarkets, this is true to all salad greens as well, and meats, those who buy them at supermarkets like the ease and comfort of having all close at hand instead of having to shop zig-zag at the markets in the city.
You can see red beans, roman beans, black beans, guandules, corn, pinto beans and others.

EL MORO DE HABICHUELAS NEGRAS, Rice with black beans, you must have a taste of this traditional dish, it's not merely rice cooked with beans as you would think, it uses special spices to prepare a tasty and remarkable rice dish unlike others, I can only say try it and let yourself be the judge of what I tell you!

"Yuca" cassava, it's without doubt a prefered vegetable on it comes time to eat some natural pork rinds, or that pork roasting over the fire, commonly eaten with fried or stewed salchichon(local salami), onions and fried white cheese, and other popular local options at meal time.
It's health properties are well documented, most notably to those that suffer from arthritis and bone debilitating illnesses.

EL ROJO'

EL PESCAO' ROJO, the red snapper, one of the most common tasty fried fish you're bound to come across in the table, only big difference(and a big one at that) to your taste buds if you have eaten this kind of fish, would be the local spices used to prepare the dish, and one thing to know it's that Dominicans make sure every part of the fish are properly adobed so you don't hit those raw tasting part that ruin a great meal in a sec!

The Salads
REYNALDOPICHARDO profile photo
REYNALDOPICHARDO 139 reviews

when at the table, something that will never be missed would be the salad, consisting of freshly picked(most if not all salad is bought daily form vendors that bring it form the farms to sell it directly every morning in the city)greens, with sweet red beets, carrots, lettuce leafs, chopped cabbage, pickles, corn and many others too many to put here(and my limited english lexicon too), but you get the idea Dominicans eat the main meal of the day, and is often called "La Bandera" the flag, for it must always have "meat, Rice and beans" the salad is like the coat of arms which adorns the flag and makes it complete!
