A long pier is almost completely covered in stalls selling the days catch, the part without stalls holds the boats used to catch them. Not user I'f I'd eat from the open air market but a lively atmosphere worth seeing

Up the hill from the ocean, with a great view of a rocky beach and people surfing there, they have a nice mix of local seafoods, Try the Calimari.

IT IS SO FUN ,I WILL RECOMEND TO ENJOY IT BUT,BEING SAFE IS A TOP SUBJECT SO ,BE AWARE OF WEIRD PEOPLE WHO COULD BE SURROUNDING YOU ,OR CALL THE 911 RIGHT AWAY ,LITTLE BIT LAZY TO TRANSLATE THIS IN SPANISH WHICH IS MY NATIVE LANGUAGE....

The US started to send illigal gang members back to their origins. And many from LA were from El Salvador. SO many of them have started gangs in La Libertad and San Salvador. So you most likely will see gang members, which is ok aslong it isn't in alleys or after sunset. So in La Libertad, don't go outside after sunset, try to be in your hotel just a before it. and if you need to go, for like food or so, take a cab, they are cheap anyway.

La Libertad is home to Punta Roca, an world class wave often compared to Jeffreys Bay.
I didn't surf it cause I was ina atime when it is overcrowded. But going after the stories it is perfection.
