Don't ask me why but people just love this chicken. On the plane from San Salvador to Houston almost everyone was bringing boxes and boxes of Pollo Campero back to their loved ones.

One of the better restaurants in San Salvador is El Bodegon. Not a 'large' restaurant, but located on the Escalon, it offers some of the best prepared food in town. The atmosphere is refined and elegant, without a lot of noise. The staff attends to your every need, and the food is served in a relaxed, yet timely manner.
Aside from the great seafood specials, I prefer the 'Punta Jalapena', which is a tender piece of meat (along the lines of a Filet Mignon), smothered in a jalopena pepper cream, containing cooked onions. It is a mouth watering treat for anyone who enjoys a great steak with just the right amount of spice added.
