SOL CITY SPORTS BAR & GRILL: BAR FOR CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS

by DAO

SOL CITY SPORTS BAR & GRILLOK. The beers aren’t that cheap. They were cold. This nice enough looking bar is the closest bar to the cruise ship pier. They serve a variety of beers and also a menu of food. Their drinks are, however, cheaper than on the cruise ship. It’s run by a Mexican American lady from California and the staff are friendly. They have a nice outside deck seating area so you can enjoy ocean views and a nice adult beverage at the same time. For some reason I cannot find their telephone number or address, but I think they don’t have a need for advertising with the cruise ships on their doorstep. Don’t forget to have an ice cold Carib Beer- but that is another tip! ** Si Habla Español **

Bananas: Bananas Sports Bar and Night Club

by Markalanweir

We danced the night away – for real, the sun was rising as we left. To say that we went “Bananas” is putting it mildly. We started out with a nice dinner in their restaurant (she had lobster, I went for the cheese burger in paradise, on par with any in the states). The Sports Bar contained multiple TV’s showing events from around the world. Then we ended up in the “Carib” Cave, a one of a kind Cave Bar where we drank shots of Parton out of a special cooling machine. The DJ’s were great and the Club had one of the better light shows on the island. All in all, one of my better nights in Grenada. No hats

Rex Grenadian Hotel: Live Music in the Hotels

by iwys

The main hotels have live music every night. This includes every style of Caribbean music. One night there will be a reggae band, the next night a calypso singer, then a steel band and best of all, a soca band. The best soca band in Grenada is Harmony's Brass. They have two girls up front, backed up by a thumping bass and a great brass section. Try to see them. They're really good. People dress smartly in the hotels at night. Some ladies even wear long dresses, but smart casual will suffice.

Fantazia2001: Best nightclub at Grenada

by Henrik_rrb

We heard about this place through our skipper, who said it was the best nightclub at the whole Grenada. I would say it was a funny experience, but probably not the best party I've ever had. The club is in the same place as the hotel, GEM holiday beach resort, and has special evenings on wednesday "Golden oldies" and fridays "ladies night". We went there on a wednesday, but either I'm too young to remember the golden oldies, or the dj just had forgotten about it half the evening...?The place is nice though, with a bar directly to your right when you get inside. Then there is a ring in the middle, which serves as dancefloor. Around it there are railings, so people who doesn't wish to dance can just stand there and look at the people who wish to do so.It's a club mostly for locals, and the music is after that. A lot of soca and reggae music, and I must say that I got quite tired of it after...

Casablanca Sports & Piano Bar: A Pub with Music

by iwys

Casablanca reminded me of a British pub. It''s got a dart board and a snooker table. But, at night there's usually a DJ and one or two people get up and dance. It's s good place to go before you move onto Fantazia. You can wear anything here.

Fantazia 2001: The No. 1 Club in Grenada

by iwys

This is the number one disco in Grenada. Outside you'll see the coolest local youths leaning aginst their BMWs and SUVs. You'll also see a couple of local policemen permanently stationed there.Inside, there are two rooms, each with a bar. The interior is pretty basic and the music is deafening. You'll probably be approached by one of the guys in dreads, asking if you want to buy some stuff. Smart casual. There are a few guys wearing dreadlocks and a big woolly hats, but most of the locals dress to impress. Girls wear dresses and boys wear smart shirts and trousers. If you just turn up in jeans and t-shirt, they wiill still let you in though.Although the people who go there are nearly all locals, they give a warm welcome to tourists. The music is a mix of the latest reggae and soca.Friday and Saturday it gets really packed. Wednesday is Golden Oldies night and Friday is Ladies Free...

Calypsos and Reggae nights

by bianchis

Most hotels provide entertainment almost every night with live bands and singers. However, if you would like to venture out, ask the waiters and waitresses they will be able to tell you where the hottest places are. No shorts in the evening. *

Well, Grenada was not THE hot...

by Island_Babe

Well, Grenada was not THE hot bed of action when it comes to nightlife. The hotel had a piano bar with a band, but by 12 most people were in bed.So, if you like to party venture out of the hotel...there is even tour that takes you clubbing at night. The hot spots in Grenada are THE BOATYARD and THE BASE.Grenada is a relatively quiet Island, so if you must go out these would be your best bets. Casual and stylish. The local people are very well dressed!
