The island offers beaches on both the Caribbean and Atlantic side, turquoise crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches, washed by the warm currents of the sea. Holidays paradise! The beach where I took the pictures is close to the Blue Horizons Garden Resort about 10 minutes drive outside of St. George's.

In 1961 the Costa cruise liner Bianca C started its engines in the port of St. George's. One of its boilers exploded and the ship was gutted in fire as it prepared to sail from the port. With the help of locals all passengers and crew were rescued, two crew perished in the engine room as a result of the explosion. As thanks the Costa line and the Italian government presented this monument to the Grenada commemorating the remembrance of this tragic accident.
The wreck can now be dived - check my sport tips for details.

Surrounding the old harbour of St. Georges a pretty waterfront lines around, with typical houses for the Caribbean. Some restaurants and shops can be found here. Since the old harbour was the first one to be built the oldest houses and some of the old warehouses still exist.

Any nature lover or any person wanting a realxing, beautiful day take a trip to Grand Etang National Forest Reserve. There's a crater lake there that actually has fishes and other wildlife. The atmosphere is so tranquil and literally cool. Perfect for a hike, picnic! The most of the road to it is narrow and consists of lots of corners so I advise you hire a local driver to take you unless you'r familiar with mountainous terrain!

FROM THE NORTH BUS STATION JUST WALK DOWNTOWN USING THIS TUNNEL INSTEAD OF CLIMBING THE HILL ROADS OF ST-GEORGE.

If you are looking for a reliable and well organized dive charter - this is the one! I did three dives with Aquanauts and was pleasantly surprised by their operation. They are situated about 10 minutes drive outside of St. George's and offer daily dives to the wrecks and reefs that are surrounding the island. All dives are accompanied by several dive masters. Their equipment and boat are first class - and I can only recommend their operation!
Equipment: All equipment is available for hire.

One of the most spectacular dives in the Caribbean is the dive on the cruise ship Bianca C. She sank in 1961 after a boiler blew up and burned for two days in the port of St. Georges. The salvage operation went wrong - a rope that pulled her out of the port snapped and she sank in high seas. It is a challenging dive - negative entry - straight down to about 40 meters, since she now lays on 52 meters of sand with the upper decks being around 28 meters.
Yet an amazing dive - I did it twice whilst I was in St. Georges!
Note - the dive is only for advanced and very experienced divers!!
Equipment: Scuba gear - which can be rented at every reputable dive shop on the island.
